The Dickson County Jail Chaplaincy exists to minister to the needs of the inmates, staff, and community of Dickson County through the county jail in Charlotte.

We believe that if Jesus were in Dickson County, one of the places he would spend time is in the County Jail. After all, didn’t He say that, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Mark 2:17)

Jesus also said that one way that you could distinguish his followers from those people who weren’t was whether or not they spent their time and energy with the hungry, thirsty, foreigners, naked, sick, and prisoners. God the Father says, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

So, we believe it is important to be in the Dickson County Jail. This site will tell you a little bit about what we do there, how we accomplish it, and how you can help. If you have any questions, please ask!

If you want to get a quick look at what we’re doing, here’s a ten minute video that overviews the ministry. You’ll hear from staff, volunteers, and inmates about the work of the Dickson County Jail Chaplaincy.
